Demographic Data

US Census - Same Sex Couples
Census information on same sex couples is available at the national, state and sub-state levels. Data about same sex couples are available for the U.S., 50 states and the District of Columbia, counties, and subcounty statistical areas (such as zip codes and block groups) from 1990 to the present.
U.S. Transgender Survey (2015)
With almost 28,000 respondents, the U.S. Transgender Survey (USTS) is the largest survey ever devoted to the lives and experiences of trans people. Conducted by the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE).

The Gay and Lesbian Atlas
Based on the decennial Census 2000 data from the U.S. Census this work offers a detailed geographic and demographic portrait of gay and lesbian families in all 50 states plus the top 25 U.S. metropolitan areas. These results are presented in more than 250 full-color maps and charts and provide information about the spatial distribution and demographic characteristics of this community.
Same-Sex Partners: the social demography of sexual orientation
Addressing the lack of understanding regarding the lives of same-sex couples, this book examines the sociodemographic characteristics of partnered gay men and lesbians. The authors draw on U.S. census data to present a demographic portrait of gay and lesbian couples who live together in committed relationships.

Pew Research Center
Pew Research Center is a nonpartisan fact tank that informs the public about the issues, attitudes and trends shaping the world. They conduct public opinion polling, demographic research, content analysis and other data-driven social science research. Searching the site for LGBT will return numerous data products. Includes A Survey of LGBT Americans.
Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network
GLSEN has been conducting research and evaluation on LGBT issues in K-12 education since 1999.
FBI Hate Crime Statistics
