Is this an image of the Aboriginal deity Jar'Edo Wens?
Certainly not. Jar'Edo Wens began and ended his existence on Wikipedia. His claim to fame is not, "a god of earthly knowledge and physical might, created by Altjira to ensure that people did not get too arrogant or self-conceited." as the Wikipedia entry would have you believe, but rather as the longest running hoax on Wikipedia.

Actually, no. There's no evidence to suggest that Ms. Alcott had an issue with Thoreau's facial hair, but disproving tittle-tattle can be difficult to do.
